How cool is it to name your price? 3 How cool is it to name your price?It started with Priceline and has moved on to organizations like GroupOn and Living Social.  In this day and age, most of us love a deal, a bargain, a coupon.  At The Livingston Inn, we have taken that concept a step further with our “Name Your Price” promotion.

For a two-week period starting February 19, our B&B will allow guests to set their own price for a stay at this historic landmark.  The concept follows a similar promotion at some B&Bs in the UK.

During this period, guests will only be charged in advance a $20.00 rate per person to cover breakfast.  From there, guests can determine upon check-out how much they valued their stay and decide an appropriate nightly rate.  My wife, Peggy, and I believe this will be a creative way to connect further with our guests and learn how they rate various aspects of staying at our B&B.

The two of us work hard every day to create a welcoming environment, a clean and comfortable room, and simply a top-notch overall experience for our visitors to Madison.  It will be a lot of fun to see what people value and why.

Our standard rates at The Livingston Inn are $175/night weekdays and $225/night on weekends.  Accommodations include a full breakfast daily and a wine and beer hour nightly.  The “Name Your Price” promotion includes all the amenities and runs from February 19 to March 3 based on availability.  Weekend stays are included but are subject to the inn’s two-night minimum.

The two of us are very excited about this idea and can’t wait to see what it brings.  Who knows…it might start a whole new consumer trend!
